Home and Community Care Support Services (HCCSS)
Home and Community Care Support Services (HCCSS) assesses for, coordinates, and delivers in-home and community-based services to support patient health and well-being. They provide access and referrals to community services, and manage long-term care home placement.
COVID-19 Vaccines
In September 2023, Health Canada approved an updated COVID-19 vaccine for individuals 6 months of age and older. This updated vaccine better protects against the new Omicron XBB variant.
Who should get the COVID-19 vaccine?
The updated COVID-19 vaccine is available for everyone aged 6 months or older at no cost.
The Ministry of Health recommends getting the updated vaccine if you have never received a COVID-19 vaccine or if you were previously vaccinated and it has been six months since your last COVID-19 vaccine dose or confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Who should get the flu shot?
The flu shot is available for everyone aged 6 months or older at no cost. Getting the flu shot is your best defence against getting the flu. While the flu is typically mild for healthy individuals, it can lead to severe complications or even be fatal for older adults, young children, and those with compromised immune systems.

Health Care Connect: Assisting Ontarians without a family health care provider in finding one.
Ontario Health West Virtual Urgent Care Clinic: Providing free virtual medical appointments with a nurse practitioner for adults, children/youth and long-term care residents Monday to Friday, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (adults) and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (children/youth).

Pharmacy Minor Ailment Prescribing: Pharmacists can now prescribe medication to treat 19 minor conditions including, pink eye, bladder infections and cold sores. For a full list of eligible conditions or to learn more, click here.

CMHA Grey Bruce offers a range of mental health and addiction programs and services across the region.
Brightshores Health System – Wellness & Recovery Centre – Mental Health and Addictions
Brightshores provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient programs and services in addition to crisis support across all emergency departments in Grey Bruce. The Wellness & Recovery Centre is designed to support individuals with addictions and mental health needs. The centre will provide stable housing while individuals with complex needs receive treatment and begin the recovery journey.

Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (West Region)
Ontarians 18+ with depression, anxiety, or related symptoms (such as specific fears, obsessive compulsive concerns, or post-traumatic stress) may be eligible for free Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, in-person or online. Refer yourself or ask a health care provider to refer you.
The Ontario Caregiver Organization
Offers a 24/7 support helpline and access valuable information on what caregivers need to be successful in their role when providing physical and emotional support to a family member, partner, friend or neighbour.
